Being a trophy husband means you are genuinely sexually desired, will not be expected to contribute much financially. Also men tend to have more relaxed standards with who they are willing to date so you might even get feels for the milf you're married to. You can also be a full time neet/stay at home husband. Other than wanting to reproduce and openly date hotter women in your prime, I can't see a downside. You probably won't get a payout unless death of your wife.
The trouble is women, even older women can usually find decently attractive men to have sex with for free and will not feel comfortable subsidizing someone just to do that. They could get a one night stand or short fling with some young Chad at a bar if they liked. And the thought of paying some man a huge amount of THEIR hard earned money in divorce is repulsive.
How to be a trophy husband? Be 99.9 percentile looks, under 35-40 (younger the better unless you're going for the anne nicole smith game) and hope that you meet some loaded older woman who is willing to go beyond a short term arrangement.
