The devil proposes them to get knowledge of good and evil, they accept and start to sin.
The people of God (jews) live by following a law to avoid sins but they have to sacrifice animals every other day because it's an imperfect way of salvation.
4000 years later: God has a son with Mary and He dwells in him to announce that every human on earth can be saved now, by receiving God and not sinning anymore (repenting)
Some of the humans understand and are saved (christians - not catholics, protestants, or any de-nomination)
