I don’t see it, if that’s what you mean. I can imagine a color. It’s more like “I am reminded of the concept of red” than “I see red”.

No, not really. I can imagine whole scenes, but I never see them, it’s just like an intuition of it, no colors or shapes.

Top 0.5% IQ, mainly due to excessive verbal IQ. I can also play 10 different instruments, am a published poet, published short stories too, am a martial artist (can do wild jumping kicks), have good practical skills, highly effective at socializing, highly effective at romance, but I’m awful at math (never even took precalc).

not him but I also can't really visualize in my head, significantly better at visualizing sound and touch. I suck at pretty much everything. they say I had a natural affinity for music as a kid but that went unrealized.

Ok what about this then. You get black out drunk and wake up outside your house with no recollection of how you got to this location. If you can't visualise your house and have no memory of getting there, how do you even know it is your own house? Is it just a feeling that this is your house?

Visualizing things (for me at least) is more like an at-will type of thing. I don't use it while driving save for rarely replaying in my mind what I saw while driving, or to visualize & rotate parts of maps.

I feel like this whole argument is the result of poor explanation and semantics. Yes, some people have aphantasia, but I think most of it is due to people not understanding what others mean by "see" or "mind's eye." Maybe I'm just an NPC, but actually "seeing" something (as in overlaying it onto reality) takes conscious mental effort, whereas just having it in your mind's eye is entirely different.

Yeah you don't actually see it in physical space. It's more like you see it in some abstract pocket within your mind and its nowhere near as vivid as real life. But I don't think it's unreasonable to assume that other people experience the world in different ways. The guy above said when he masturbates to thoughts alone he doesn't see pictures, he's masturbating to feelings which I find extremely alien because when I masturbate to thoughts I quite literally have a pornography playing in my head and I cant imagine how anyone could just fail to understand that. It's clear the guy above processes the world more so in verbal descriptions and plain feelings rather than by way of some abstract image impressed into his psyche. His way of thinking is probably advantageous for certain kinds of problems, but less so for others.
