The society didn't collapse and default to an anarchy or warlords, or much less a reversion to Germanic mud huts, they just moved on as if nothing had happened.
And for the matter this can be replicated everywhere such as post-nuke Japan, France, even fucking Russia itself which rivaled the OP pic in just 50 years after being a muddy shithole full of illiterate peasants whose tech development was equivalent to a medieval backyard farm. As for China, they were all of the above plus imperialistically-imposed drug addiction and still managed to become second in the world just like that with minimal effort.
It seems that, when you put it this way, that the bound variable that makes Africa a shithole is only found in Africa itself. Because Africa has seen many different variants of many different countries that were either affected by colonialism or barely at all, and then completely made the ills of colonialism irrelevant by outbreeding the whole Earth, yet all of them are the same and they just cannot form a coherent society to this day. The case of Africa cannot be replicated to other places. It is unique to Africa for some weird racist reason.
