I was learning about limb developement and hox genes, when i came across the sonic hedgehog gene, and i figured i would make a thread about dumb and funny names nerds have given to stuff.
Cellular biologysts are especially guilty of this, now that i thnk about it. See smaug gene also.
Is there anything like that in your field?
