Unfortunately, since the modern peer-review process makes a lot of scientific literature inaccessible, this method is not always reliable. A lot of papers are incomprehensible if you have not matriculated through the social network which those papers cater to. They do this on purpose as a way to control their professional industry's *very* limited funding pool. It is just a sad fact that a lot og the stuff published these days is just inaccessible to outsiders no matter how diligent their independent studies may be.
