Hey /sci/, what's the scientific reason that some people possess a eidetic memory ( around 2% of adults ) ?

Is it a developmental phenomenon, since children have evolving minds, and in turn, it somehow drags into adulthood ?

Eidetic Memory - the ability to remember and retain a picture for a few seconds after seeing it.
