As you can tell, the math section is a lot more about thinking logically or in this case spatially rather than testing your real mathematical knowledge. There is no calculus or even trigonometry on the old SAT.
This is the kind of SAT that Bill Gates and a bunch of other famous people took, provided they took it before 1994.
It makes for a really good IQ test, psychometrically speaking it's valid and a lot better at testing intelligence than the new SAT we have now, and I kind of wish they still had the SAT like this.
To get into Mensa, at the time you would have to score in the 98th percentile for the SAT, which was 1250 I think.
