Those of us who have been through academia and actually have scored as significantly above average on an official IQ test know that much of what you do in academia has little transference to real life. Being able to rationally solve problems with critical thinking is the most important skill to have, and the people capable of it will always produce better results than those who are sub-par at it. Academia is mere regurgitation, so while you can't pass through the upper echelons of it as a brainlet, it does absolutely nothing to filter the midwit. Anyone who doesn't realize this and thinks their passage implies greater intellect is almost certainly not as capable as they believe themselves to be.
