ML anons, how do I further my skills in this field?

I learned the basics of simpler machine learning techniques, moved onto neural nets, made babbys first MNIST classifier and finally glued a resnet and an RNN together to do OCR work.

This somewhat feels like "mount stupid" to me: I know enough to feel competent, but don't know enough to even know what I don't know. I don't plan on doing research - I just want to know what is useful to learn so I can implement these in more applications.
