Diffusion/recrystalization are Arrhenius processes, and technically you could bend slowly enough at room temperature and the crystal structure could re-equilibrate (a stressed crystal structure is NOT at equilibrium, so thermodynamically speaking it wants to relax). However, at room temperature, the thermodynamic driving force is so small and the kinetic pathways so limited that this would take a VERY long time.
