>>13270641Got the Pfizer vax on Thursday because I basically wouldn't be able to graduate otherwise. First shot. Felt okay on Friday, sore muscles where I got the shot but nothing much otherwise.
Last night was completely different. Felt fine going to sleep. Woke up around 5 or 6 am with ridiculous chest pain, all on the left side of my body. Hard to describe. Pretty terrifying experience.
>Oh it's all in your head, you expected to have heart problems so you imagined it1. Never heard of these side effects until today. I looked up shit *because* of this experience.
2. I went to sleep totally fine. Wasn't "expecting" anything since I didn't face any extreme reactions the previous day and thought the worst was over. Then in the middle of the night I suddenly wake up because of said pains? I couldn't do that even if I tried. This has also never happened before in my life. No way it was a coincidence.
Throughout the rest of today I've felt off and had another bad episode of pain during the afternoon as well. Can't say how directly related this part is to the vax or just having terrible sleep. Definitely going to see a doctor ASAP and get this checked out. I don't really know how accurately they can diagnose these symptoms or what they can even do, but I'm hoping for the best.
My conclusion is: don't get the vaccine unless you really fucking have to (e.g. old parents whom you live with). University requiring it is not a good enough reason IMO. Stall as long as possible, fake a vax card, do what you have to. It's just not worth it, especially if you've avoided covid thus far. I was a genuinely frightening experience, but I'm most fearful for future nights and the long term health of my heart.
There's no way in hell I'm getting the 2nd dose, that's for sure. The silver lining here is that since I've actually taken the shot I can't be immediately dumped in with the crazy antivaxxers. There are clearly serious concerns and I've experienced at least one of them firsthand.
