Popular science is just religion packaged in an "intellectual" package. Everything about popular science is a contortion of the scientific method. Science is based on the repeated testing of claims, and the resulting observations. However, many of the things that people claim to be "science" is just speculation, not even hypothesis that can be tested.
I'm tired of pseudo-intellectuals speculating about sci-fi shit and claiming to be soooo smart. Like Eloon Mosque literally pulled some random number out of his ass and talked about how "the chances that we are in base reality is 1 in 1,000,000" when talking about the simulation theory. The guy literally pulled some random number out of his ass and combined it with sci-fi mumbo jumbo and now the sois are all jizzing their pantaloons because of it.
Same thing goes for fucking kurzgesagt videos. The people who watch these videos are dumb as fuck. You can fucking hear their breathy attempts to speak intellectually with shit like "so uhhhhh.. mufukin uhhh... dyson spheres work because uhhhhh. he said something about a mercury base and uhhhh..... robots and mirrors and shit and uhhh..... fuckin railgun launchers and shit maaaaaan".
Just because you browse /r/atheism, listen to funny bald dmt man on podcast, and watch Rick and Morty 5 times along with the wisecrack "philosophy" videos doesn't make you smart, it makes you a religious person. You worship fake "intellectuals" and fake "science" instead of gods and priests. You go to atheist conventions instead of church gatherings. You make shrines for baby yoda trans funko pop instead of whatever dumbass got mutilated 10000 years ago or something.
I can't stand these people.
