I would argue it's actually a pressing issue that could affect many other branches of science as well, because the hysteria over race is starting to lead to other fields being purged of "white supremacy" with attempts to discard centuries worth of theories because they were developed by Europeans. That's why we have crazy shit like "math is white supremacy" and Harvard University saying 2 + 2 = 5
