The redness of red colour is because red "paint" or surfaces are made of certain materials that absorb all the other colours that are projected on them and only a particular wavelength of the electromagnetic spectrum (following in the red "colour" range) is reflected back. Thus you see red coloured surface.
This light is made up of photons whose behaviour can sometimes be classified as waves and at other times as particles.
Yes there are equations to describe them. The coldness of the cool air is just due to air having a lower temperature than your body brushing against your skin that has receptors to detect this "coldness". The chilly of hot pepper is because of another receptor present in your toungue that percieves it as chilly. The sound of any piano key or anything really is just a vibration of air that passes its vibration along air until it reaches your ear where it gets detected by your ear drum. Hence sound is due to vibrations that needs a medium like air to propogate whereas light is due to a field generated by a black body or charge that does not require a medium to propogate. Photons themselves are not any colour, they just appear red when bouncing off of a red surface due to only a particular wavelength of photons being bounced back (rest all get absorbed in th form of energy)
