In meters it's probably something like A(h)= 2*h*(w+d) where d is the average depth of the body (e.g. 0.2m) and w is the average width (e.g. 0.4m) but that would of course depend on the person. If you wanted a formula solely based on h for a specific group of people then you'd need an average on d and w for them

Of course it's a guess, fucking retard. There is no formula for everyone because human shapes are different despite having the same h.
BMI takes h and mass, and mass is obviously correlated with volume. With that volume and h you could approximate better the skin surface area, but it would still be just an approximation because 1 kg of far has a lot more volume than 1 kg of muscle. That is the same reason why bmi is vague, of course. For example a prime bodybuilder would be considered obese by the bmi standard
