Back in middle school I was in a summer camp for nerds where the whole idea was studying the biology of the Great Salt Lake. On one of the fields trips we turned up a sheet of salt and found these tiny yellow worms underneath. The chaperones were just college students so they had no clue what they were either, and we couldn't find any info on halophilic organisms that didn't deal with bacteria.
Anyone have any idea what they could have been? They were maybe 1-2 cm long and bright yellow, crawling directly in what was basically a block of salt. My best guess is some kind of nematode.
