I wouldn't say I suck at them but I certainly haven't had the need to picture anything in my mind's eye since I stopped doing problems a couple of months ago. Maybe I'm just rusty? I think it would be too much of a cringe move to go take the test again when I'm back in the zone just to see if it goes up though.

I get that it's flawed but it's the only "decent" intelligence metric there is. I just wanted to feel smart but now I feel like I'm nothing special intelectually speaking.

This happened to me. I realized that while intellectually I fucking tower over normies, I simply won't make the cut for any actual research that matters. I switched majors, went into finance and now I'm raking in some sweet amounts of cash, but there's always a nagging feeling that I'm so fundamentally different from genuises that I cannot even grasp what I'm missing. Ngl, it does suck sometimes.

I really don't wanna take another test because it's a retard move not to be able to deal with your insecurities but maybe if I get back on my feet and clear my head it'll be higher? Idk, another anon also mentioned there was also a verbal part and the psychologist only gave me a written test of 30ish questions for pattern recognition and told me it was 115-130, maybe I really am a normie and got 115, or it was something like 127 but who the fuck knows at this point.

It is definitely possible to improve your score, IQ *is* kind of a meme and you shouldn't take it that seriously. Still, while the kind of people I mentioned would do great on any test, their intelligence goes way beyond standarized stuff, you just feel the differente.

I think IQ is mostly bullshit and encourages a fixed mindset instead of a growth mindset.

A lot of autist kids get told they're "smart" then they develop their whole sense of self around that concept which makes them give up on anything that requires effort leading to underachievment.
