This is not to say it loses NO atmosphere to it, it does, but very slowly. Another thing to note is that Earth's atmospheric loss is in the form of water breaking down in the upper atmosphere and the very light hydrogen atoms get blasted away. Venus has functionally no water in it's atmosphere, and CO2 is comprised of far heavier elements
