>>13249812I actually solved all of these issues.
In raw mathematics and logic.
I algorithmically determined the reason that NO civilization from one planet, will EVER contact another civilization on another planet, in another star system.
There is a very discrete reason for this, even if every star system in the Universe has life.
I'm not talking about a distance or time problem.
The actual reason is a bigger think than I feel like typing on /sci/.
I'm going to dumb down some points and simplify what I can to the point that it will be understood here.
Space-time has causal linkage that pre-determines specific outcomes. Intelligent life factors into this causal linkage.
There is a sort of Universal blockchain, involving the disbursement of knowledge and intelligence.
There is only one true chain, and anything that happens outside of this chain is not recorded by the consensus of observers.
As of this moment, I have reason to believe we are the civilization that has the responsibility of being the first to reach out, and complete the chain, contacting all other civilizations.
There may be another civilization higher on the chain than us, but I am not currently investigating that.
If we are not the first civilization to make contacts with all others, then anything else we do, won't matter.*
*This is true for all civilizations.
As soon as a civilization is advanced enough to realize this, I don't know what steps they take, but it's safe to say they aren't traversing the Universe in generational ships looking for wayward Earths. The best thing they could do, is make the highest energy output signal that they can, and it can be entirely noise. The content of that signal, does not matter, it is not meant to be intelligent contact, just an earmark.
