The black holes all sit on a wrinkley sheet or blanket (spacetime is the blanket). Some force is pulling spacetime flat and the result is not that the black holes move, it is just that as the wrinkles between them flatten out distance between the black holes increases.
Maybe this could provide some explanation for "dark matter" because areas of the universe with a more crinkled spacetime texture would hold more spacetime in a smaller frame of reference.
