>>13248803anon is right. gs are a unit of acceleration. satellites orbiting things are most definitely experiencing acceleration because their momenta charge as a function of time (dp/dt = F). in LEO for instance, you are experiencing a little less than 1 g.
OP seems to think that free fall means you aren't accelerating, when free fall means you are moving only under the influence of gravity which is indistinguishable from acceleration. what they think of as weight is really the force of the floor pushing up on them when they are on earth, and are confused by the apparent lack of that force in orbit (this is because the spaceship and person are in free fall together)
