>>13256652Oh, you're talking about bloggers referencing him. Yeah, I had seen that. Open Individualism has a microscopic following and he's one of the very few outspoken about it so it doesn't surprise me too much.
>Well towards the end he went like full solipsistI vaguely remember in one of his videos (before he went full delusion) that he said only two are possible: open individualism or solipsism. So do you think he'd still be an open individualist if he did not become delusional? He said he regretted making those movies but I assume that is only because he became a solipsist.
>Well towards the end he went like full solipsist, but before that, I think he would say that your subjective moment, now a sort ill-defined unceasing smear(?), is going to "lend" bits of the computation that is/was you to events in the next immediate moment, whether or not that moment is the sensation in a frog's asshole or something. Locality seems meaningless in this system. So how does quantum immortality play into that? I assumed that open individualism is The Egg by Andy Weir (exlc the god analogy) but his version seems to work differently. Assuming that he is right, is he still himself in another MWT branch or is he already someone else subjectively speaking (e.g. a chinese peasant in the year 1657.) I thought quantum immortality was basically hell where you die over and over again eternally, so that isn't what he meant when he uses that term?
This shit is all over the place...
