Math is not a language. Stop saying it is. It makes you sound dumb. Math is commonly written in English. English is a language. An english person would not understand math written in korean, because these are different languages. Korean and English are languages. Math is not.
Propositional logic studies formal languages, but these do not encompass the whole of math, it's but a narrow subject of study in mathematics.
The statement doesnt work as a metaphor either. Language how? What features of math resemble those of a language? It has some notational conventions which makes some things easier to interpret (which otherwise could be written in English) but that's hardly unique to math, since so does physics, chemistry and pretty much every other field of study. One rarely sees anyone call chemistry a language. It annoys me to no end. Stop calling math a language. It is a field of study.
