Why dont employers value math degrees as much as they should?

I dont see why anyone would value an accounting, finance, comp sci, or engineering degree over a math degree. Those degrees are clearly inferior to math degrees, yet here I am still unemployed after having a 3.7 gpa for my math undergrad. All of the software engineering jobs I apply to should be begging to have math majors apply, but they almost all say they either exclusively or prefer a comp sci degree. Dont they realize that comp sci majors are a complete joke?
