You can't proof that Marilyn Monroe existed if you're part of the Trueman show that creates your reality beyond a level you can't control. But you can proof something mathematically with respect to a formal system (only) because the specification of that formal system and the agreement on when something is proven comes with it.
The mathematical proof has a strict criterium for acceptance, but real life situation can't be proven but merely declared "unreasonable to assume it at this point".
