Probably someone with a background in that, a high school STEM teacher perhaps, who was overlooked and was starving to prove him or herself. Academia will be furious that a lowly outside did what they couldn't with their billions in tax payer funding, they will probably succeed in destroying the poor fool. He will die early of a heart attack or something near it. Then a few years later those same academics will loot his memory by lionizing him and acting like they supported him all along, all while continuing to blacklist his family and associates.
Revolution is the solution.
