I know that mcvegan burger has around 300 cal.

I wanted to calculate its weight.

My approach was to use E = mc^2 since I only have the energy of the burger but it didn't give me a right number.

Why can't I use E = mc^2?

calories are the energy your body gets from digesting the burger
it has nothing to do with relativity at all

Not all of the foods mass is converted to energy and vice versa. Caloric content of food is determined experimentally.

calories are not the energy your body gets but rather calculated based on how much energy is released during incineration. We don't actually have a really solid way to measure energy availability otherwise.

The calories numbers of food as associated with burning reactions, while the formula involving the speed of light relates to atomic bonds. One is essentially chemistry and the other essentially atomic level.

The E=mc^2 amount of a nut is far beyond it's gain as a nutrient, whatever nut you consider here.

O2 and burger in => CO2 and burnt remains out
There is no open flame involved and the process is slower, but its the same oxidation

Doesn't this depend on the body's ability to digest the stuff too? Like if you burned paper that wouldn't give you an estimate of the energy you'd get from eating paper.
