Is there a point in learning science if you've already got a job? Most of the jobs in STEM aren't even that interesting. In terms of research, you're at the mercy of corporate or government benefactors, and they're only interested in developing fairly trivial things. Meanwhile, things like religion and philosophy can be studied and practiced by just reading books and sitting in a chair. What benefit actually is there to learning about science?
