Where does atmospheric pressure act in a fluid? I assume that atmospheric pressure acts in on every point of this image. Im confused whether the pressure is felt by the liquid through the walls of the container, or not? And if atm. pressure is transmitted onto the top layer of the fluid only, does that mean pressure everywhere in the liquid is at least atm. pressure thanks to the atm. pressure compressing the liquid? I can't find a good source explaining this.
