Yeah, I'd say it would be worth it but I suppose it's not "neccesary" in this day and age.
I remember reading it as a kid and memorizing a bunch of proofs as well as the logic behind them, did me a lot of good I think; I'd recommend it to you're (or anyone's) kids if you have some anon :)
