Maybe if for some reason they can sense magnetic fields or some crazy shit it might allow them to advance and discover technology faster related to their senses but a model is a model, this question becomes complicated because for most of human beings existence we came to illogical conclusions that god done did it for explaining many things and even though obviously we have the same sensory organs as previous humans.
