I think the only real argument you can make is that 'something' causes consciousness, and consciousness is very clearly real regardless of how much very adamant materialists will claim.
The argument that you can just scan a brain and then there your consciousness is now transferred is beyond retarded and can be dismissed by the fact that if you could scan someone brain while they're alive and then upload it, this would imply the person was existing in both locations at once, so clearly consciousness is not simply ones memories and personality, but something more. What exactly is it? No one knows and anyone who says they do is lying.
