There are things i don't understand in the Evolution theory

For example, why are bats flying ? i mean, some may say "they evolved to have longer arms and fingers and skin between fingers" right but how ?
Evolution states that some individuals are slightly better than others from their species and their genes are those who survives, so when bats were still walking rats, how a rat with slightly longer fingers and more skin would be an improvement ?? even with that he still couldn't fly nor even just hoover between trees, he just would be a rat with slightly longer fingers, that's all, he wouldn't be significantly better thus his genes wouldn't have been betters than other rats with slightly shorter fingers or less skin between fingers since both would act the same as being ground walking rats...

Same for Tiktaalik for example, the first fish to get out of water, Evolution isn't something that happens over one generation, so no matter which proto tiktaalik went out he would still have died, they didn't be born with lungs, according to evolution generations after generations they could breathe a bit more air and survive a bit longer, but that also mean that the first tiktaalik ancestors just couldn't breathe so they would all have died going out on land, so their shouldn't be any tiktaalik since no proto tiktaalik would have been able to just breathe..
explain me this /sci/ the only way i can see an answer to that is evolution controlled by god for example, not bait im genuinly asking
