>>13226217>it's completely fucking irrelevantIt is relevant because there are different types electric motor driven cars powered by different power sources. How are you going to get people to buy cars that are powered by batteries when you don't even have a name for them. What if they want a hydrogen-powered car?
>does it come from an internal combustion engine? it isn't an electric carSo fuel-powered cars are non-electric cars, despite the fact that they still use electricity? That would seem ridiculous going up to a car salesman and asking for a non-electric car and getting a car that uses electricity. The person would ask to return the purchase because of false and misleading advertising.
>okay this is fucking bait>Hasn't heard of fuel pumps or windshield wipers>>13226223Except it's not. OP uses the phrase "electric car" then proceeded to talk about cars which run off batteries. He wasn't talking about hydrogen powered cars or nuclear reactor powered cars. Why not just use the correct terminology.
>>13226359>gas-powered car which operate on electricity from a batteryGas-powered, diesel-powered, and ethanol-powered cars derive their power from fuel, hence fuel-powered vehicles.
>We wouldn't want people thinking that the headlights are running directly on combustion, would we?They are, the fuel runs the alternator which helps keep these electrical systems up and running.
