>>13222200I'm it's because these are the sources you can get it from and each of them has a reason to lie to you:
>Lifters and personal trainersThey may know a bit about the excersise they do but they have no formal scientific training like at all. To suggest they would understand what's best for them or for you or would even be able to distinguish which of the millions of factors that include luck was the one that made them successful would be like pretending a dog will know more about veterinarian science than an actual veterinarian
>magazines articles and books aimed at the publicThey only want to sell stuff and that only depends on marketing, not real data, the real data might not be atractive enough for people to want to hear it.
>Actual doctorsFor general health it's almost unanimous that staying below 20-15% bf and doing cardio three times a week is more than enough. And strength training when done wrong(and they have not te to check that you are responsible enough to do it right) has a huge potential to fuck up your bones nerves tendons etc. So they are at best neutral and most of the time advice against it just as a precaution.
>Actual doctors and researchers who work with professional athletesThe problem with these is that high performance athletes have requirements that have nothing to do with the normal person and also do tons of illegal shit which they could never admit openly. So even if they tell you what they do it would be useless unless you do the same stuff as them
Basically if you're not a top competing athlete you're shit out of luck for reliable information, you have to draw your own conclussions
