He tried to do the whole teach math thing when I was a kid. I realize he's a great teacher to now that I'm older, but at the time it sucked serious ass. It was stressful as fuck for me, and even though It definitely made me alright at math, it also kind of spoiled my relationship with it in general starting and through highschool.
I only picked it back up seriously in college & now I'm about to graduate with my doctorate, so I guess I'm not total shit. It's hard to say if I would have gone into math at all if I didn't study as a kid, but I would say it was a net negative experience in general.
Just make sure you do it right if you do it is what I'm trying to say I guess.
