I quit smoking a month ago after being a-pack-day smoker for a decade. The withdrawals are gone and I don’t crave nicotine anymore. I’m feeling better in general.

However, I can’t stop thinking that there’s no point to it. The damage is already done and it’s irreversible. My lungs will never get back to their original pre-smoking default state. I will always be at increased risk for disease.

Just thinking about it makes me depressed. What should I do?
