Why are there no "pop math" books as there are pop sci books?
I mean a books describing fields of mathematics in an informal manner, giving a good overview over the important definitions and theorems and the intuition behind them, but without going into the details of proofs or technical lemmas. I'd love to read such an outline of algebraic geometry.

I've been out of university for a few years and I just want some recreational math in my free time while working a full time job.
