most dermatologist barely know more than the average google browser
here are some gestalts:
- you need androgens to trigger hair loss, but there is a genetic factor that triggers hair loss in the presence of androgens
- progesteron and estrogens can heal male pattern baldness
- repeated nucleotide sequences (similar process to huntington's disease) make so that baldness appears earlier with each generation
- men with hairloss have an increased risk of hypertension, diabetes and coronary artery disease
- male pattern baldness is also observed in other primates once they reach adult age. Meaning that baldness is an important signal for SOMETHING which escapes our logical minds
- there was this new medicine against reumathoid arthiritis developepd in the early 80's, called benoxaprofen, which reversed apttern baldness. It also had side effects like photosensitivity, nails in the sun would fall. But it did work. It also killed about 7 old people because it caused obstructive jaundice so they banned it forever. You can't find it now
- finasteride slows down the inevitable, minoxidil is a cope. There is nothing else worth trying. Finasteride acts on 5alpha-reductase 3 receptors in the brain, discovered later after the drug was used. So yes, besides your dick it also messes with your brain literally
- so far there is nothing worth trying that would reverse it, it's either a cope/scam/snake oil
