>>13210729There was a lot of science related shitposting, but its not like there were a sea of threads discussing science. There would always be some fag coming over from /x/ or some retard from /b/ to make a irrelevant threads, /pol/acks occasionally popped in and out on occasion but only really to discuss race and IQ.There was a good deal of shitfligning between undergrads about different majors, but I think a good deal of it was in jest.
There weren't any generals, since they were still uncommon on 4chan in general, but there was a lot of metashit, and for the first few years there were a lot of threads regarding/involving new atheism. Then as now there are still those who are willing to post at length despite only having the most superficial of knowledge on a given subject.
>>13210849>higher proportion of postgrads, career researchers and other professionals>A far, far lower proportion of pseuds and science fan boys> I would say that the quality of threads on /sci/ has improved since it's early days.It honestly feels like the other way around, not like things were particularly good to begin with, it felt like 2013-15 was probably when this board was at its best.
