>>13212523>>13212540I'm 29 starting my PhD now, but I don't feel bad or awkward about it, there are other people in my program who have families and are older than me even. It seems to be a weird mix of people who are in early 20s and people who are early 30s.
All the 30s people except me are working in industry and are kind of doing PhD just for fun on the side. I guess I'm kind of doing the same, I could do a job at the same time as this but I'd rather just keep doing research stuff on topics I enjoy rather than doing some lame/boring job in my field that is stressful.
But yeah it is going to be interesting, I don't feel awkward or weird about it despite what everyone online seems to think. Maybe I should feel more awkward about it than I do.
