I've worked with a professor who also thinks this. It's a big problem in astro that they ignore charge in Maxwell's equations for the purpose of so called "MHD"

An interesting consequence is that astrocucks ignore the fact that the sun is charged (positive since outgoing photons blast electrons away more than protons). It is in fact so charged that protons only feel half the gravitational force they should feel after accounting for enm.
