Nothing that is permanently mechanically interconnected like gears can accomplish this bc newton's 3rd: every action has equal and opposite reaction. The force experienced on the output would logically try to force the input both directions at the same time which makes no sense. You'd need slipping or disengagement.
Diodes are one way of course, so physically ratcheting pawls or physically slipping in only one direction is analogous to diodes.
