Capital+Labor= Wealth. Labor takes a cut, capital takes a cut.
Pensioners are pure capitalists, they just have a portfolio and get checks. Pensioner good. Most farmers are just landowners that let a corporation operate their lands. Farmer noble. Farmer feeds me. Residential landlords? Bad, very bad. Kill landlords.

Consider pensioners. Are they leeches?
A man invests all his life and gets some decent capital in old age. Enough to live from dividends. His frail body doesn't have to do anything, he just gets money and likely will leave the portfolio to his son. Is this bad? A lot of people think so.

Its a pejorative term for people that earn returns from capital alone. So a pensioner is rent seeking. People seem to have less of a problem with rent seekers if they put up some labor too, like a business owner that spends his day at a factory managing everything and pays himself a manager salary on top of the profits he gets as owner. Somehow the labor purifies the profit?
