They're symmetrically aligned to space, and are essentially force multipliers. Musk is really REALLY fucking good at finding the best possible people to work at his company. He's smart as fuck, and basically an autistic robot that's gone back in time to today, and is trying to play catchup with the future he came from; so his motivation to succeed is has no limit.
SpaceX's success is storied, no doubt, but he'll, outside of unlocking the stars to the species unlike Jeff Who, will also go down in history as the guy who aligned himself, Tom Mueller, and Shotwell at SpaceX and aligned himself, Jim Keller, and JB Straubel;

As a result, Tesla and SpaceX are also aligned together at a fundamental level. The fact that Tesla contracted SpaceX to assist it in developing an aluminum alloy that can be injected into a die-cast gigapress mould which can be pressed and then cooled rapidly without cracking while facing between 4 to 6,000 tons of pressure is proof enough.
