That's a combination of no local production to pull prices down, no/weak rebates, and poor geographic area. And it's mostly geographic area. On top of that, for many modern homes, spray-in insulation is a better way to save money on your electricity bill than a PEV system, and usually cheaper.
Regardless, you don't get PEV because you want $20 extra in your pocket each month. You get PEV so that you stop paying an electricity bill and pay a loan instead, because a loan is *always* the same price, doesn't fluctuate wildly throughout the year, and isn't guaranteed to continue to soar as energy costs increase annually. If you can get completely off the grid, you literally never pay again unless you live in some cucked out place that charges you tax monies to produce your own electricity.
