>>13195715>meme nerve in neck excuse for gawd dindu it cuz bad design and stuffThe recurrent laryngeal nerve appears to every so slightly prevent aortic fusing during fetal development. It therefore serves a purpose.
In reality, and quite ironically, the nerve is harder for evolutionary origin believers to explain compared to intelligent designers. Allegedly according to evolution myths, the RLN formed due to the vagus nerve in tetrapod's last common fish ancestor getting its vagus nerve "tangled" up in arterial arches and then extending as the voice box kept moving along with the "evolving" of a longer neck.
Problem is, and this should be reeeeaaaally easy to immediately see if you are not a blind evolutionist, is that fish don't have voice boxes. Oooops.
I've asked this question of why the nerve kept on with it's "evolutionary moment" along an extending neck with the voice box when the voice box did not exist yet, but I've never had even a single answer.
Moreover, even if the RLN did not appear to have a functional purpose it still could exist simply as God saying "hey here's this glaring issue that evolution paradoxically can't explain" as kind of a joke, which in turn gives it purpose: God playing a joke exposing that macroevolution is wrong.
