Poop tastes bad because of the human disgust reaction. Humans have a natural instinct for avoiding materials that are diseased. That feeling is called disgust. When you are around poop, rotten food, spoiled milk, or gays, you are disgusted.

Here's a more teleological take: poop SHOULD taste bad because it is by definition waste and thus its tasting good implies the existence of useful, unexpected nutrients implying an inefficiency of the digestive tract. Hence with a suitably efficient (over one pass) digestive system poop should be gross. Unless of course we could be like one of those animals that cycles their poop again to get extra nutrients- off the top of my head I can't recall which that is... rabbits?
