>>13202966Out of the two of us, I am the one fighting against the corrupted world. The bad guys won, commodified and tainted the picturesque European soul with their decadent influence. I am an anomaly in this system of internal contradictions, an aristocrat of soul (and by lineage) in the middle of all the Kultur-Terror. What do you do instead? You repeat the lies fed to you by the system of mental mutilation. You are an embodiment of a crippled spirit.

>>13203029I think category theory is an extremely useful tool in the sense that it allows switching the setting of a given problem (prototypically, a topological one) to another (algebraic). In this sense, the idea of using categories as a "universal dictionary" that translates any language to another (well, not really any but you probably get the idea) makes it a useful tool. Furthermore, the universal constructions such as all sorts of limits and colimits allow dealing with problems in a really efficient way. If you know a property related to, say, pullbacks in general and can show that you have a pullback in front of you, you can exploit that property and voila you have something nice. An example of this would be determining the homotopy type of the homotopy fibre of for any continuous . It's a bit surprising and made easy by CT. However, CT per se is extremely dry in my opinion, and I do appreciate those who actually have the energy to do research in it, but I could never force myself to do so personally. Hopefully this satisfies your curiosity.
